Consumer Online Privacy Policy

At UMTB, we respect the privacy and security of your personal information. UMTB is required by law to provide our customers with a document illustrating the types of customer information we collect and the circumstances under which we may share this information. This policy describes those privacy practices for UMTB. We urge you to read it carefully, and make note of your rights under this policy.

We only grant access to nonpublic personal information about you (such as your name, address, and social security number) to company employees and affiliated and non-affiliated service providers so that they can assist us in processing and servicing your accounts, and administering our business.

UMTB is committed to ensure that your information remain confidential. Even if you are no longer our customer, we will continue to treat your nonpublic personal information in the same way as if you were still a customer. In addition, our practices and procedures are designed to comply with federal standards to guard your personal information.

The information UMTB collects about you:
If you apply for a loan or a new account, UMTB asks that you provide information about your financial status, such as employment, income, monthly expenses and assets, as well as identifying information such as your address, telephone number and/or Social Security number.

In most cases, you give us this information yourself, in person, by mail, or by telephone. If UMTB needs to know about your credit and repayment history, we also obtain information from consumer reporting agencies and other creditors, or from public records. We also gather experience information from our own relationship with you, such as account transactions and payments.

The Information about you that we share within UMTB:
We use information about you to provide you with the products and services you request. We also use that information to verify your identity, protect you from fraud and identity theft. UMTB employees are permitted access to the information about you that they need to perform their jobs on your behalf. We maintain strict internal policies against unauthorized disclosure or use of customer information by employees.

We require all of our employees to agree in writing to protect the confidentiality of customer information and to use it only for our business purposes. Our policy is to prohibit employees from accessing your personal information unless there is a business reason to do so. We train our employees to recognize the importance of customer confidentiality. Employees who violate these standards are subject to disciplinary measures.

We do not sell customer information to third parties.
We do not share customer information with outside parties who may wish to market their products to you.


You do not have to take any action or instruct us to keep your information confidential. We will protect your privacy automatically.

Maintenance of Accurate Information:

Information Sharing restrictions:
It is the Bank's policy to do not disclose specific information about, your accounts or other personally identifiable data to outside parties, unaffiliated or affiliated companies for their independent use unless:
  • you request or authorize it;
  • the information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you;
  • the information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency; or
  • the disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required by law (e.g., subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, request by regulator, etc.).
We do not provide account or personal information to non-affiliated companies for the purpose of independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing of any non-financial products or services of those companies.

Children’s Privacy:
The site is not intended for use by minors.

Bank Privacy Policy updates:
This policy applies to consumers. UMTB will provide notice of our privacy policy annually, as long as you maintain an account with us. UMTB reserves the right to make changes to this policy at anytime, we will notify you promptly if we do so.
